Cheryl Kelley

Cheryl Kelley’s photorealist paintings of automobiles portray high-powered muscle cars as seductive objects of desire. Rendering the reflective qualities of chrome in hyper-realistic detail, Kelley works from a feminine perspective, presenting these icons of the 20th century as metaphors for the American Dream with all of its complexity.
Kelley is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Award. Exhibitions of note include the seminal Photorealism Revisited, at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art; the Seven Bridges Foundation, Greenwich, CT; and the Samek Art Gallery at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA. Collected nationwide, her work has been reviewed in many publications including ArtNews, the New York Times, and San Francisco Weekly, and has been featured on the cover of Harper’s magazine. Cheryl Kelley lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
