ABFA is pleased to announce Squared Off, on view from June 6 through June 25. The show brings together 11 artists whose works share a single constraint: each piece exists within a perfect square.
The square is among the most charged forms in visual art, simultaneously neutral and assertive, democratic and demanding. Freed from the hierarchy of landscape or portrait orientation, a square composition refuses to privilege any axis. Squared Off takes this geometry not as limitation but as common ground, gathering a diverse range of works that find their own answers to the same formal question.
Featured artists include Stephanie Schechter, Joshua Suda, Peter and Madeline Powell, and Benjamin M. Johnson.
