Jessica Fridrich wins 2023 Arizona Highways Photo Contest

ABFA is pleased to announce that our represented photographer, Jessica Fridrich, has won the 2023 Arizona Highways Photo Contest! Despite going up against Arizona natives, it was our upstate New York girl that captured the winning shot in White Pocket, AZ. Jessica has been a finalist in this competition twice in previous years, and this year her hard work and perseverance paid off.

Press Release by Corners Gallery:

Corners Gallery in Ithaca, NY is happy to announce a new exhibit called TIME, ART, LOVE, MONEY, which will be on view from April 22, 2023, through MAY 20. The artist’s reception and opening will be Saturday, April 22, from 4:00 till 6:00 PM.

Gallery owner Ariel Bullion Ecklund will be showing the work of Steve Carver, covering over 45 years of paintings done for both private and commercial interests.

From the late 1970s through the early years of the 21st Century, Carver was a practicing graphic designer and illustrator who produced work for record album covers (The Beach Boys, Kansas, Chaka Khan, Doc Watson, Maynard Ferguson, etc.), book publishers (Random House, St. Martin’s Press, Penguin Books), and magazines and newspapers (TIME, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly, New York Times, Boston Globe, many others).

For the last dozen years he has pursued personal work instead, at first producing larger scale, typography focused pieces and more recently smaller scale paintings in a return to an earlier form of working. His paintings have been shown at Fowler-Mills Galleries, Santa Monica, CA; Herbert Williams Gallery/CFAC, Syracuse, NY; Corners Gallery, Ithaca, NY; Fred Jones Gal lery, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State University and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Carver’s paintings are in collections both private and institutional across the U.S.
