Charles hartley - recent paintings
1 March - 31 March 2010
Opening Reception: Friday, 5 March 2010 | 6-9 pm
About the exhibition:
We are proud to showcase the very first solo show of works by painter, Charles Hartley. Hartley is currently one of our most asked about artists at Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts, and his works are quickly making it into many private collections and juried exhibitions where Charles has won several awards . He came to the gallery one year ago with an interesting story. A recently retired physics professor from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, Hartley only began painting seriously two years ago after his retirement. The work in this exhibit represents his dedication to painting from the past two years. His atmospheric handling of light and distance in his landscapes are most compelling to viewers. Even the most mundane subjects become spaces of intrigue with his subtly nuanced handling of light and shadow. His paintings captivate people's attention and become engaging pieces of dialog, even for other painters who come to the gallery to study his technique. This is one of the greatest compliments, especially for an emerging artist such as Hartley.
We hope you will join us for the opening reception. The artist will be present to meet the public and talk about his work.
