Arrangements: The Still Life in Variation
Sep. 17- Oct. 4, 2026
ABFA is pleased to present Arrangements: The Variations of a Still Life, a group exhibition bringing together a diverse group of artists whose work reconsiders one of art history's oldest genres: the still life.
Each artist brings a distinct approach to the genre, with varying styles, offering a range of perspectives on a single, shared subject. Together, the works highlight how much variation is possible within one of art history's most enduring forms.
Historically, the still life has served as a vehicle for artists to explore light, form, texture, and symbolism. This exhibition looks at the genre in the hands of contemporary artists working across different mediums and how the same fundamental premise, an arrangement of objects at rest, can yield an extraordinary range of results.
Arrangements: The Variations of a Still Life invites viewers to slow down and look closely, considering how each artist's choices of subject, composition, palette, and process, shape the way we see the ordinary objects that surround us.
